Lauren Adelman

ABOUT

Lauren Adelman is a Landscape Designer with Wheat’s Lawn and Custom Landscapes, providing exceptionally articulated landscapes for the D.C. Metropolitan region.  Design concepts are always hatched with this goal – to translate the client’s vision and elevate it to the most beautiful, functional, and successful application. The driving impulse behind every landscape are the people who will inhabit it. At its core – good design is about serving others and creating community.

Lauren’s proudest professional achievements include the transformation of a historic estate; complete with an arboretum, two meadows, and hardscaping that utilized original firebrick and granite, dating back to the 1840’s. She has designed the courtyard for Christine’s House, a retreat that honors the life of a remarkable young woman and serves the residents of MCV’s OB-GYN program. She is well versed in many styles of landscapes and takes inspirations from her world travels.

Lauren is originally from Northern Virginia and loves designing for this distinctive area. She studied Sociology at Virginia Commonwealth University and went back to school to earn her Horticulture Technology degree from J. Sargeant Reynolds, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She previously designed for Cross Creek Nursery and Landscaping, and served at other horticultural institutions, such as Maymont, and Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.

Beyond the garden, Lauren is a wedding and special events DJ with Blue Cut Media. She’s happiest when she’s with her dog, her partner, hiking in the mountains, or on an airplane to somewhere in the world. Her personal motto – “grounded and grateful.”
